MLS soccer in Vancouver
Vancouver Whitecaps FC play home matches at BC Place. The downtown location means visitors can combine a match with Gastown, Chinatown, False Creek or Yaletown without dedicating an entire day to transportation.
What kind of seat?
Midfield gives the clearest tactical view of the whole match. End sections put you closer to supporter energy and goalmouth action. Families or first-time visitors who prefer a calmer experience should study the current seating map and supporter-section information before buying.
Getting to BC Place
Stadium-Chinatown is the closest regular SkyTrain station and is about a five-minute walk from several gates. BC Place also lists Yaletown-Roundhouse as another approach from the Canada Line. Event parking exists in surrounding third-party lots, but transit is usually easier.
With children
BC Place currently says children aged two and under generally do not need a separate ticket for Whitecaps matches if they do not occupy a seat. Event rules can change, so verify before buying the rest of the family's tickets.
World Cup note
FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at BC Place use special access procedures that differ from normal Whitecaps matches. Do not use a regular MLS game-day routine as your World Cup plan.
Make the match part of a downtown day
Whitecaps matches fit naturally after a Gastown, Chinatown, Yaletown or False Creek afternoon. Because BC Place is downtown, there is little reason to leave the central area for dinner and then return immediately before kickoff.
Atmosphere and supporter sections
Supporter areas are more vocal and energetic than ordinary seating sections. Visitors who want chants and standing atmosphere may prefer that environment; families or guests wanting a calmer view should choose seats farther from the main supporter groups.
Weather and the roof
BC Place has a retractable roof, so the experience can feel very different by date. Check the event information and weather before deciding what outerwear to bring. Even when the stadium itself is covered, the walk to and from transit is outdoors.
