Games, concerts and major event planning
Vancouver's event calendar changes constantly, so the useful part of a city guide is not copying a long schedule that will expire. It is knowing which venue you are attending, how the surrounding district works and what changes on a major event day.
Major Vancouver event venues
BC Place
Large stadium events, BC Lions football, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, international soccer and major concerts. Stadium-Chinatown is the closest regular SkyTrain station.
Rogers Arena
Vancouver Canucks hockey plus major concerts and arena events. Stadium-Chinatown station is directly adjacent.
Nat Bailey Stadium
Vancouver Canadians baseball in a smaller outdoor ballpark beside Queen Elizabeth Park.
PNE / Hastings Park
Seasonal fair, concerts and special events in East Vancouver. Transportation planning is different from the downtown stadium district, so check the event's current access plan.
FIFA World Cup 2026 is different
Vancouver's seven FIFA World Cup 2026 match days use special transportation and security arrangements. The official local guidance directs spectators through a designated route beginning at Main Street–Science World Station and recommends starting toward the stadium at least two hours before kickoff. Standard BC Place parking and entry habits should not be assumed for World Cup matches.
Concert night
Check the ticket for the actual venue and door time. Rogers Arena and BC Place are close enough that confusing them is surprisingly easy for visitors. Eat nearby, review the venue bag policy, download the mobile ticket before joining the crowd and decide the return route before the show ends.
Group and formal event transportation
For concerts, galas, award functions or client entertainment where the group wants one planned pickup, an hourly chauffeur option for an event evening can be compared with transit, taxi and rideshare. Central sightseeing itself usually does not require this level of transportation.
