Official and practical Vancouver resources
This page is designed as a starting point for information that changes too often to reproduce reliably. For permits, transit, emergencies, parks, health, events and government services, use the responsible organization rather than an old blog post or copied directory.
City and regional information
City of Vancouver
Municipal services, parking, parks, recreation, permits, streets, development, events and neighbourhood planning.
TransLink
Current SkyTrain, Canada Line, bus, SeaBus, West Coast Express, fares, trip planning and service alerts.
Destination Vancouver
Visitor information, attractions, events, accommodation and trip inspiration from Vancouver's destination organization.
DriveBC
Highway conditions, incidents, construction, webcams and road information for trips beyond Vancouver.
Airports, ferries and cross-border travel
Health and urgent help
For current health-service information in British Columbia, use HealthLink BC and Vancouver Coastal Health. For immediate emergencies call 911. This guide does not attempt to maintain a private list of clinics or emergency departments because services and hours can change.
Community resources
Vancouver supports neighbourhood houses, childcare, youth programs, community organizations, food programs, recreation and volunteer initiatives. The City's People and Programs section is a useful gateway, while individual community centres and neighbourhood houses provide local schedules.
Related regional city guides
For visitors continuing outside Vancouver, our independent regional resources include Richmond planning information, a Burnaby visitor resource, Surrey community guides, Langley travel ideas, Maple Ridge outdoor and visitor planning and Abbotsford trip resources.
